NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) –
A New Haven mom is a true example of a rags to riches story.
She was born on Christmas day, but rarely got to celebrate both her birthday and Christmas because growing up she says her family never had enough money.
But times have sure changed. Even though Roberta Hoskie started out on welfare, the mother of three used her love for real estate
to build a million dollar business.
“It is absolutely beautiful,” Hoskie, of Outreach Realty Services, said.
For Hoskie, selling homes is more than just a job, it’s her passion.
“Outreach Property was the first business I created out of my basement with my sister,” Hoskie said.
Even though she now helps people in New Haven find their dream homes, when she was younger she said the thought of owning her home was an impossible dream.
